Last night brought some pitching (fore
and aft movement) but hardly noticeable. That made for pretty good
sleeping. Conditions today are much the same as yesterday with warm
wind and high humidity, Beautiful seas but many whitecaps which make
whale spotting more difficult.
Took a mile walk along the promenade
deck again this morning then we each took in a lecture. A visit to
the guest laundry was accomplished. We have a daily laundry service
but choose to do our own for some items. The laundry service has been
excellent this trip with pick up each morning and each evening when
our cabin is cleaned and turned down.
Another time change occurred today at
2pm. That brought up the question: If you have an event to attend at
2, but at 2 the time changes to 3 have you missed your event? If you
show up at 1:59 and the event starts at 1:59 you are safe but if the
event begins late it doesn't begin until after 3 and if you have to
be somewhere else at 3, scheduled for the time change are you really
attending a 2 o'clock and a 3 o'clock? Such was the discussion at an
open table seating at lunch.

Yesterday
I had been discreetly handed by one of the restaurant assistant
managers a printed invitation to a cocktail party followed by dinner
hosted by the Hotel Director and a member of the ship's performing
entertainment company. So we showed up at the designated corner of
the Mix Bar at 5:30pm and joined six other guests, Hotel manager
Craig Oaks and co-host Ms Shannon Crouch. The staff passed canapes
and champagne and cocktails and we all proceeded to get acquainted.
Julie and I had met Director Oaks on the Prinsendam in 2013 and
confirmed that with him. Then off we went to the dining room to the
Director's table for an excellent dinner with great visiting. When we
left the table at 8:15 and went our own ways, we couldn't find
something to do for we usually eat at 8 and attend a show at 10. Now
we found the show room packed and no-where for the two of us to sit
together and the show was underway. The other venues were empty of
entertainment or the music was not of our choice. So we wandered
about awhile then headed to the cabin for a good read. With another
early dinner on the schedule this weekend I shall have to plan better
after dinner activities.
Yes... Plan well don't miss anything because we need to hear about it all :)
