Day 1 of the
Trans-Atlantic Crossing
Last night we had light
pitching and an occasional roll which is just enough to remind us we
are at sea. It is not enough yet to have to tack down the corridor.
A couple of staterooms have
experienced a failure of water valves in their toilets which caused
some fresh water flooding of the floor. The maintenance crew was
quick to replace the valves and set fans to dry the affected cabins.
Our first time change came
at 2 a.m. Last night. Fortunately, our in cabin clock automatically
shifts when ship's time changes but I still have to change my watch
and the times on all cameras.
We have our whale
watch/dolphin watch assignment which is Navigation Deck at station
006.

This
evening got a scheduling squeeze as we planned to dine at 7:45 with
friends Ralph and Kathy who we shipped with twice before. Then came a
card with an invitation to a cocktail party by the shipping line
hosted by the Captain and the Hotel Manager to begin at 7:30. The
party is deck 12 forward and the dining room is deck 8 aft.
Fortunately our dinner guests are also invited to the party so the
schedule was stretched to accommodate both events. Entertained by the
Celtic Tenors after dinner.
