Day 3 of port days in a row. The ship
passed Cape Nao at 0730. It was 64º
F and windy. 1100 we tied up to a commercial pier, starboard side to
the pier. This gave us a view from our deck of a part of the coast, a
ferry and the ship with the lips on the bow; Aida Vita. This thing
keeps showing up and now it looks like it's trying to kiss our stern.
Noon
report: 39º
27.27'N, 000º 19.44'W.
Temp 16c/61f. Distance traveled: 5,027 nm. Wind W10k. Sunrise 0747.
Sunset 1744.
At
1130 we left for a walking tour to include Torres de Santo, Plaza of
the Virgin of the Forsaken Basilica, the Cathedral, Goya paintings
therein, la Lonja, the old silk exchange (another UNESCO World
Heritage Site), walled part of the old city with many shops, the
covered market, the opera house, art center and shadow garden. As a
treat we bought oranges and chocolates in the market. Visiting
markets is a great way to see and smell the raw foods of an area.
